Mongolia rugs (Samarkand): The details of Mongolia rugs are short but they are the pioneers in the art of rug weaving. The 5th century carpet Pazryk, was found in the valley of Pazryk of Siberia, near the border of Mongolian, this carpet stands as a witness stating, carpet weaving in Mongolia existed from past many centuries. The rugs from Mongolia are known as Samarkand, named after the oldest city in Asia. These rugs has the features of Persian and Chinese rug, The shape and design of the rugs are medallions in circular shape with the flowers, leaves and fruits as its design. The colors used in the rugs are light and some time bright, soft blue, gray, yellows, and bright reds are the hues incorporated. The material used to woven the rug is wool or the silk using Persian knots. Foundation of the rug is of cotton or wool or else silk sometime
